A bout of stabbing pain in the lower part of the right chest may be gallbladder disease, liver disease, pleurisy, intercostal neuralgia, lung cancer and so on. 1. Gallbladder diseases: such as cholecystitis which causes the gallbladder wall to ooze and bleed and pain, gallbladder stones stimulate the gallbladder wall and cause the gallbladder wall to damage and bleed and cause this symptom. 2. Liver disease: chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis and other liver lesions can cause pain after stimulating the rich sensory nerve fibers on the surface of liver envelope. 3. Pleurisy: bacterial infection and other inflammatory lesions of the right pleura, exudation, bleeding, adhesion, etc., manifested as chest pain, chest tightness, mostly accompanied by cough, high fever and other symptoms. 4. Intercostal neuralgia: viral infection, trauma, etc. lead to inflammatory lesion of intercostal nerves, which will cause chest pain when involving the right lower intercostal nerve. 5. Lung cancer: In middle and late stage, chest pain may occur when the right lung cancer invades the chest wall and stimulates the local nerves.
