How to read a sperm morphology report

Sperm morphology analysis report needs to look at sperm count, sperm quality and PH value. 1. Sperm count: Sperm count greater than 80% is normal, if less than 60% may affect normal function, if less than 50% may lead to infertility. 2. Sperm quality: Sperm quality mainly depends on sperm viability and deformity rate. a and b sperm count greater than 50% is normal. Less than 90% malformed sperm is normal. If the malformed sperm is greater than 94%, it may be deformed spermatozoa. 3. PH value: the normal PH value of sperm is 7.2-8.0, weakly alkaline, if the sperm PH value >7, it may be caused by chronic infectious diseases; if the PH value >8, it may be the accessory gonads or epididymis with acute infectious diseases. 4. semen color: normal semen is transparent gray-white, if the semen occurs yellowish or with blood, it indicates that it is not normal. 5. Semen volume: if the volume of semen is greater than two milliliters, it is within the normal range; if it is less than two milliliters, it is abnormal. 6. Sperm liquefaction: most of the sperm will liquefy after half an hour after discharge, and if it fails to liquefy for a long time, it means that the sperm is abnormal.
