Is a foreign body sensation in the throat thyroid cancer?

A foreign body sensation in the throat does not necessarily mean thyroid cancer, but usually thyroid cancer does not cause foreign body sensation in the throat. Usually, further laryngoscopy and thyroid ultrasound examination are needed, and if necessary, cytocentesis is required to confirm the diagnosis. Foreign body sensation in the throat is usually caused by pharyngitis or tonsillitis after bacterial or viral infection, and some patients with reflux esophagitis may also have foreign body sensation in the throat. Thyroid cancer is the most common malignant tumor of the thyroid gland, and according to its pathological types, it includes papillary, follicular, medullary and undifferentiated carcinomas. The typical clinical presentation is a painless, hard, poorly defined and less mobile mass in the neck, which can move up and down with swallowing.
