How to prepare the diet of post-surgical patients?

When to start eating after surgery and what kind of diet to use depends on the specific situation of the patient. In general, those who have no adverse reactions after minor surgery can eat after surgery; those who operate under local anesthesia can arrange their diet according to their condition if they do not have any uncomfortable reactions after surgery; those who do major surgery under general or semi-body anesthesia need to wait for 3-4 days after waking up and start eating in small amounts only when there are no gastrointestinal adverse reactions. After 1 or 2 days of trial feeding, if there is no uncomfortable reaction, the patient can gradually increase the amount of food and transition to ordinary diet. Patients who have undergone abdominal surgery should wait until the anus is exhausted or the bowels are relieved before eating. Usually, the first stage of diet after surgery is mainly clear liquid food, patients can enter rice soup, lotus root powder, fruit juice, de-oiled C broth, egg flower soup, etc.; after 1 or 2 days, as the condition stabilizes, patients can enter the second stage of diet, eating milk, soy milk, yogurt, yellow egg custard, almond tea and other fluids; if patients have no adverse reactions after eating fluids, the diet can enter the third stage, eating dragon beard noodles flung egg flower, egg flower porridge After 5-6 days, the patient’s diet can enter the fourth stage, eating soft rice, soft dishes made of meat, steamed buns, etc. In short, the diet of post-surgical patients should be “high in calories, high in protein, high in vitamins, low in fat, and easy to digest” as the principle. In particular, vitamins are not easy to get from food, and can be supplemented with drugs if necessary.
