What’s wrong with vomiting in late pregnancy?

Vomiting in late pregnancy is an abnormal phenomenon, which is first considered to be caused by gastrointestinal dysfunction, in addition, there are other reasons for vomiting in late pregnancy. In the middle and late stages of pregnancy, as the fetus gradually grows, the pressure in the abdominal cavity rises. If the hiatus widens, it can push the bottom of the stomach, through the widened esophageal hiatus, into the thoracic cavity, medically known as an esophageal hiatal hernia. Due to the relaxation of the upper opening of the stomach, gastric acid, gas, and food from the stomach can reflux into the esophagus or mouth, and gastric acid irritates the esophageal mucosa, resulting in reflux esophagitis. Pregnant mothers are advised to eat a light diet, eat small meals, eat less food that is too sweet, too spicy, too sticky, and avoid eating too much spicy, stimulating, greasy and indigestible food. After meals, you should not lie flat on the bed, or lie too low, and bend over as little as possible to reduce acid reflux in the stomach. Keep your bowels clear and go to the hospital for examination and treatment if you notice any symptoms of gastric reflux.
