What is the acupuncture treatment for facial paralysis

Facial paralysis can be treated with acupuncture at Yangbai, Zyongsiao, Cheek Che, Dicang, Cataract, Hegu and Shuigou points.
Facial paralysis is a condition characterized by the tilting of the corners of the mouth to one side and incomplete closure of the eyelids, also known as “tilted mouth and eyes”, which can develop at any age and has a rapid onset, most often on only one side of the face. It is often associated with overwork, lack of positive energy, wind-cold or wind-heat entering the body. The main treatment is to dispel wind and clear the channels, dredge the meridians and regulate the tendons.
In the treatment, the acupoints Yangbai, zygomaticos, cheek car, dicang, and cataract can dredge and regulate the meridians and tendons of the patient’s face, activate blood circulation and clear the channels. Hegu is a selected point in the distal part of the large intestine meridian, and ShuiGou point belongs to the dui chi, both of which can be used for treating distortion of the mouth and eyes, convulsions (a pediatric disease that manifests itself mainly in dizziness, apoplexy, and convulsions), facial swelling, and tightness of the teeth, and other related disorders.
If the patient has symptoms of facial paralysis, it is recommended to go to the regular hospital in time for diagnosis and treatment. Acupuncture operations must be carried out by professional doctors, patients should not operate the treatment privately.
