What to do if your liver is bleeding

There are two most common causes of liver bleeding: the first is liver rupture following trauma, which is a blunt contusion and, in severe cases, can lead to secondary bleeding due to rupture of the liver vessels. In this case, emergency anti-shock treatment should be administered, along with relevant preoperative preparations, and emergency dissection surgery should be performed to repair the ruptured liver. During the operation, partial resection or wedge resection of liver tissue is chosen according to the need of the condition. Postoperative treatment such as intravenous anti-infection and intravenous nutritional support is also required. It is also important to monitor changes in coagulation indicators, as it is prone to complications such as DIC. The second condition is bleeding due to rupture of malignant tumors in the liver, the most common being primary liver cancer. If the condition allows, hepatic artery embolization under DSA angiography is also an option.
