What is an adnexal fluid mass?

A fluid mass in the adnexa may be a collection of fluid in the fallopian tube, a cyst in the ovary, or an inflammatory collection of fluid in the ovary, which should be further examined clinically and combined with the clinical history for a comprehensive analysis. If the pain is caused by inflammation, there will be pain in the lower abdomen, especially after exertion or during sexual intercourse or menstruation, and the pain will often increase. In the case of a chocolate cyst, it may be accompanied by dysmenorrhea. In the case of a fluid mass in the adnexal area, it is recommended to take into account the clinical history and give the appropriate analysis. If it is due to a chocolate cyst, it is recommended to treat it clinically as soon as possible with surgery.
