Diabetes causes cataracts due to long-term elevated blood sugar and metabolic disorders in the body. Types of diabetic cataract: 1. It is a true diabetic cataract, which often occurs in young patients with bilateral onset and rapid progression, and the lens can become completely cloudy within a short period of time; 2. It is almost the same as the common senile cataract, which is a senile cataract in diabetic elderly patients. The difference is that diabetic patients have a higher incidence of cataracts than the general elderly, occur at an earlier age, and develop rapidly.
