Vision of 1.0 or more is generally referred to as normal vision. Nowadays, children’s vision test results of 1.0 should be considered normal, with one point to consider the age factor. Children should not develop to the level of adult vision until they are 8-9 years old, which means they can reach 1.0 or 1.2. Before the age of 8-9, vision gradually grows and decreases from farsightedness to the normal stage, so not reaching 1.0 before the age of 8 is not necessarily considered a vision problem or developmental delay. Conversely, 1.0 visual acuity is considered normal if the child is 8-9 years old. Whether it is a good thing for children to reach 1.0 vision at age 5 or not may need to be weighed. Because if the degree of orthokeratology is reached too early, the direction of development in the future can only go to myopia, that is, 1.0 visual acuity, 0.6 visual acuity of a 5-year-old child, it is likely that 1.0 children may later appear to deepen in degrees earlier, and other tests are needed to determine, such as dilated pupil examination, to see how much visual acuity reserve there is.
