Symptoms and manifestations of pneumonia mainly include common symptoms such as cough and sputum, and signs such as increased respiratory rate.

1. Symptoms: Symptoms caused by different pathogens vary, for example, Streptococcus pneumoniae may cause chills, high fever, coughing rust-colored sputum, chest pain, etc.; Staphylococcus aureus may cause chills, high fever, pus and blood sputum, shortness of breath, etc.; anaerobic bacteria may cause high fever, fishy sputum, toxaemia, etc. Pneumonia may not have obvious clinical manifestations, but may show fatigue, decreased appetite, psycho-neurological symptoms. In addition, pneumonia in the elderly may not have obvious clinical manifestations, but may be characterized by fatigue, loss of appetite, mental and neurological symptoms, and so on.

2. Signs: Early pneumonia patients may not have obvious signs. In severe cases, patients may show signs such as increased respiratory rate, nasal fluttering and cyanosis. If the patient has solid lung lesions, there may be typical signs such as turbid sounds on percussion, bronchial breath sounds, increased tremor and wet rales, etc. If the patient is not feeling well, it is recommended to consult a doctor promptly.
