Tong Cao should not be used by pregnant women; patients with cold spleen and stomach; patients with hypokalemia; and patients allergic to Tong Cao.
Tong Cao is a diuretic and diaphoretic (improves urinary dribbling, small amount of urine not passable) Chinese medicine. It has a sweet, light flavor and is slightly cold in nature. It has the effect of diuretic and diuresis, and passes qi to bring down breast milk.
It can be used to treat conditions such as heat drenching (obvious burning and stinging pain when urinating, accompanied by frequent urination and urgency, and discomfort from traction in the abdomen), edema, and postpartum lactation. However, some patients are not suitable for the use of Tong Cao.
Tong Cao can only be used for postpartum labor and should not be used for pregnant women.
Tongcao is slightly cold in nature, and may aggravate abdominal pain, diarrhea and other symptoms in patients with cold spleen and stomach, and should not be used.
The drug should be used under the guidance of a physician.
