Is it abnormal to have a lot of foamy urine?

Under normal circumstances, the surface tension of urine is very low and fewer bubbles are formed. Urine contains some organic and inorganic substances that make the tension of urine stronger and some bubbles appear, so the presence of bubble urine does not necessarily mean that there is a disease. However, when the composition in urine changes for various reasons, the surface tension of urine increases and bubbles increase. This is common in the following cases: 1. In liver and kidney diseases, the bilirubin or protein content in urine increases, the surface tension of urine increases, and more bubbles can be produced during urination; 2. Bladder diseases such as cystitis and bladder cancer, or other urinary tract infections, make the composition of urine easily change and produce bubbles; 3. In diabetes, the urinary sugar or urinary ketone body content in urine rises, the pH of urine changes, and the surface tension of urine 4, when there are gas-producing bacteria in the urinary tract, bubbles can be produced in the urine; 5, couples separated for a long time, stopping sex for too long; frequent sexual excitement, due to the increased mucus secreted by the urethral bulb gland, the surface tension of the urine increases, there will also be more bubbles in the urine. In addition, when urination is urgent, the pressure of urination increases, the speed of urination increases, so that the surface tension of urine increases, and the bubbles are also seen to increase. In short, there are many reasons for bubbles in urine, but when there are especially many bubbles in urine, and when the bubbles are large and last for a long time, it is appropriate to go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible.
