What is a cervical smear?

The so-called cervical smear is actually also to check the cervix for cancer, but it is just an early cervical cancer screening method. In previous years, women could only do cervical smear, but not cervical liquid-based cytology. Cervical smear, which is actually using a special scraper to scrape cells from the cervix and then sent to the pathology department for examination, has been eliminated because the process of scraping cells can cause local pain and discomfort. Cervical fluid-based cytology is a test that uses a TCT brush to remove cells from the cervix and send them to the pathology department for examination, so it does not cause any pain or discomfort to women and the results are more accurate. If there is cervical cancer, cancer cells will be detected, but if cancer cells are not detected during cervical smear, the test result will be false negative, so the accuracy rate of cervical smear is relatively low, and there is pain and discomfort, therefore, cervical smear is no longer a routine test. If a woman wants to do cervical cancer screening, she can directly prefer to do cervical TCT.
