When is the best time to take zinc supplements

Common zinc supplements are recommended to be taken about 2 hours after a meal, or best before a meal if you choose a protein zinc without side effects. In most cases, infants can get enough zinc through breast milk during the first 4 months of life, so zinc supplementation is given after 4 months of age when the child has clinical symptoms of zinc deficiency or when there are laboratory tests for zinc deficiency. Common zinc supplements have a stimulating effect on the gastrointestinal tract and are recommended to be taken about 2 hours after a meal to reduce gastrointestinal discomfort. However, if you choose zinc protein, which has a large molecular weight and is relatively strong with zinc, it does not precipitate zinc ions in the stomach and therefore does not cause gastrointestinal irritation, so it is best to take it before meals. It is recommended to consume zinc-rich foods such as beef, pork, liver, oysters, poultry, egg yolk, peanuts, walnuts, tofu, soybeans and white fungus while taking zinc supplements in order to increase the absorption of zinc.
