What is peak insulin

Peak insulin is the peak period of the body’s insulin secretion, usually within half an hour to one hour after eating.
Insulin is the body’s only hypoglycemic hormone. The body’s blood sugar rises after eating, which stimulates insulin secretion. Peak insulin secretion usually occurs within half an hour to an hour after eating, with peaks reaching up to five times the fasting insulin value, and then falls back down as blood sugar falls.
Insulin resistance or diabetes mellitus may present with delayed peak insulin secretion, which can lead to abnormal blood glucose and requires refinement of the oral glucose tolerance test and insulin release test for further clarification.
If abnormal insulin secretion occurs, it is recommended to go to the hospital and ask the doctor to make a judgment.
