Symptoms of insulin resistance in women

Female insulin resistance can have no obvious symptoms in mild cases, but in serious cases, it can have manifestations such as obesity, skin changes, menstrual abnormalities or infertility. 1. Obesity: female insulin resistance patients often manifest abdominal obesity, that is, fat deposition centered on the abdomen. 2. Skin changes: some patients with insulin resistance have the manifestation of acanthosis nigricans, i.e., melanin deposition in skin folds such as the side of the neck, armpits, etc., and the surface is rough and dry. 3. Abnormal menstruation or infertility: female insulin resistance patients are often accompanied by polycystic ovary syndrome, which manifests as scanty menstruation and infertility. Women with insulin resistance are recommended to seek timely medical treatment, identify the cause of the disease, actively treat the disease, prevent and treat complications, remove the triggers that may lead to the aggravation of insulin resistance, improve the lifestyle, and regularly monitor the blood glucose, blood lipids and blood pressure.
