The recovery time for small toe excision, i.e., removal of the fifth toe of the foot, varies according to the patient’s wound condition, and usually takes 1 month to grow back completely, with some patients taking longer. Patients with good blood circulation in the lower limbs, no obvious oozing, no serious infection caused by open injury, or serious underlying diseases, such as diabetes mellitus, can have the stitches removed in 12~14 days and grow back completely in about 1 month after treatment such as wound dressing change. Patients with poor blood circulation in the lower limbs, arterial occlusion in the lower limbs, serious infections caused by open injuries, or serious underlying diseases such as diabetes mellitus. The time needed is relatively longer, mostly more than 1 month. Patients after foot fifth toe resection are advised to go to the hospital for regular follow-ups for early recovery.
