The ground glass nodule has grown 3mm in the last 4 months, is that serious?

Ground-glass nodules have grown 3mm in 4 months, which is generally not a particularly serious condition, and regular follow-up examinations with thin-layer CT in the hospital are performed to detect and observe the condition of ground-glass nodules. However, if there is persistent growth, it is recommended to carry out pathological tissue examination to clarify the nature of the nodule.
If the ground glass nodule is a benign nodule or pre-cancerous nodule that has grown by 3mm in 4 months, it is not a particularly serious case and the patient does not need to worry too much. If the patient has a partially solid nodule less than 6mm or a pure ground glass nodule, the patient can have a follow-up examination every 6 to 12 months. In the case of partially solid nodules greater than or equal to 6mm, follow-up visits can be made around 3 to 6 months.
If due to the rapid growth of the nodules or the enlargement of the nodules, it even causes the patient to have symptoms such as dyspnea, cough, chest tightness, and so on. They should go to the hospital in time, and if they suspect that there is the possibility of cancer, they need to take pathological tissues for examination to clarify the nature of the nodules.
