The healing properties of Codonopsis Ginseng, Licorice, Ginger, Dried Ginger and Tu Fu Ling

Codonopsis pilosulae, licorice, dry ginger and earth poria are suitable for the treatment of the syndrome of cold-dampness offending the spleen (cold and dampness evils invading the spleen), which is more effective when taken by those who have symptoms of cold-dampness offending the spleen. Cold-dampness trapping the spleen syndrome refers to the symptoms manifested by cold-dampness internalization (cold and dampness evils accumulate in the body), and spleen yang being trapped (spleen yang qi being trapped). Clinical manifestations include plagued and distended pain in the epigastrium (abdomen), contracted pain in the limbs, loose stools, nausea and desire to vomit, light mouth and lack of thirst, heavy head and body (heaviness in the head and limbs), swelling of the limbs, shortness of urine, and a pale, fat, white, greasy tongue. Radix Codonopsis and Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae Sinensis invigorate the spleen and benefit the qi (tonifying qi and strengthening the spleen); when the spleen qi is healthy, dampness goes away. Dried ginger warms the spleen and yang (warming and tonifying spleen yang) and disperses cold and dampness. Poria cocos detoxifies and removes dampness (detoxifies and removes dampness) and facilitates the joints, especially for the pain of contracture of the limbs. The combination of the four herbs can tonify Qi and strengthen the spleen, warm the middle and disperse cold (using medicine that warms the spleen and stomach to disperse cold), remove dampness and relieve pain, which is useful in cases where cold-dampness offends the spleen. Note: It is contraindicated for hot body, with adverse reactions such as dry mouth and heartburn. Codonopsis, licorice, dry ginger and tu fu ling are suitable for patients with cold pain in the epigastrium (feeling cold pain in the stomach and abdomen), constriction of limbs, nausea and vomiting caused by cold-dampness syndrome of the spleen, which is effective for patients with cold-dampness syndrome of the spleen. The medication should be taken under the guidance of a doctor, and individuals should not take the medication on their own to avoid delaying the condition.
