Effects and contraindications of Podophyllotoxin

Adequan, its main ingredients are salicylic acid, benzoic acid, bitter ginseng, boric acid, and talcum powder. The concentration of salicylic acid is about 18%, benzoic acid is 12%, boric acid is 40%, bitter ginseng is about 20%, and talcum powder is about 10%. Salicylic acid’s pharmacological action is to exfoliate and fungicidal; benzoic acid is a disinfectant, fungicidal and exfoliating; boric acid is astringent and antipruritic; and bitter ginseng is a purgative and detoxifying agent. The drug thus composed is often used for the excessive sweating of our hands and feet and for tinea pedis. It has contraindications, one is that patients who are allergic to salicylic acid, benzoic acid, boric acid, and even bitter ginseng cannot use it; the second one is that patients with blisters or vesicles type of tinea versicolor cannot use it.
