How to tell if it’s a deep overlay

You can tell if you have a deep overlay by looking at the degree of overlap between your maxillary and mandibular teeth when they bite together.
Overlap refers to a vertical relationship between the upper and lower teeth, and you can usually tell if it is a deep overlay by looking at the degree of overlay between the maxillary and mandibular teeth when they bite together.
Generally, if the maxillary arch or the vertical development of the upper and lower jaws is abnormal, i.e., the incisal edge of the upper front teeth covers the crowns of the lower front teeth by more than 1/3, then it is a deep overlay or if the lower front teeth bite on the lingual side of the upper front teeth by more than 1/3, which is mainly manifested by the upper and middle incisors being vertically or inwardly tilted, the incisors of the sides being tilted lip-wise, the upper incisors being tilted inwardly and the cuspids being lip-wise, or all the upper front teeth tilted inwardly.
Deep overjet is recommended to have regular treatment under the guidance of a doctor, and can be treated with planar guide braces, square or thin wire arch braces, micro-implant supports, removable fitted cushion braces, or surgical treatment, etc. Choose the best treatment according to the type and degree of your deep overjet. Any abnormalities should be treated promptly to avoid more serious consequences.
