Jiang Hanxia has the efficacy of warming the middle and resolving phlegm, lowering the rebelliousness and stopping vomiting (stopping the upward rush of gastric qi, stopping vomiting); its side effect is that it can cause poisoning, which is manifested as numbness of the mouth and tongue, pain and dryness of the throat, discomfort in the epigastric region, and then swelling, burning pain and congestion of the throat and tongue. Ginger half-sia, flavor pungent, warm; attributed to the spleen, stomach, lung meridian. Clinically, it is mainly used in the treatment of phlegm-beverage (pathological products formed by impaired water-liquid metabolism) vomiting, gastric plumpness (stomach distension and discomfort). Jiang Hanxia should not be used with Chuanwu, Prepared Chuanwu, Caowu, Prepared Caowu, and Appendicitis. Prompt medical attention is recommended in case of discomfort.
