The main function of iodophor is disinfection and sterilization, and its application is very widespread. Iodophor is more easily accepted by patients because it is less irritating and has a wide range of sterilizing and disinfecting effects. Iodophor is diluted with sterile water, distilled water or clean water, or in emergency conditions with bottled mineral water or plain water. Iodophor at 0.5% concentration is used for male glans and female vaginal inflammation scrubbing, the most common concentration is 1%, which is mostly used for skin trauma disinfection or disinfection before subcutaneous injection and can be used directly on the affected area, and iodophor at 2% concentration is mostly used for skin disinfection of the open area during surgery.
