Why does the period come for ten days

Normally, the period is between 3-7 days. A period of ten days is a prolonged period, which may be related to dysfunctional uterine bleeding. Because of ovulation disorder, breakthrough bleeding occurs when the endometrium keeps proliferating under the action of simple estrogen, which is manifested by prolonged and heavy vaginal bleeding, or when there is ovulation with well-developed corpus luteum and prolonged atrophy, which is manifested by prolonged periods and heavy bleeding. When suffering from submucosal fibroids, endometrial polyps or adenomyosis, prolonged periods may also occur due to poor contraction of the uterus. If you have vaginal bleeding for more than 10 days, it is best to go to the hospital to rule out early pregnancy and have a gynecological ultrasound and a sex hormone test. If the bleeding is caused by hormonal disorders, estrogen and progesterone can be given for 3-6 months. If the bleeding is caused by fibroids, endometrial polyps or adenomyosis, medication can be given and if necessary, surgery can be performed.
