Normal people generally have two kidneys, which are divided into the left and right kidney. The functions of the left kidney and the right kidney are basically the same, and the main difference between them is the difference in anatomical location, as well as morphological differences. The first, the left kidney is slightly lower than the right kidney, because the right kidney is adjacent to the liver above it, and therefore the right kidney is positioned lower. Secondly, the right kidney is smaller than the left kidney, about 5-10% smaller. Third, the veins of the right kidney are shorter than those of the left kidney. Fourthly, the risk factor of the left kidney is smaller than that of the right kidney when it comes to kidney removal surgery. Other than that, the difference between the left kidney and the right kidney is not very big.
