What Causes Thick Arms

Most of the stubby arms are caused by physiological reasons and can also be caused by venous return obstruction in the arms.

If you are obese and consume a lot of fatty, spicy and sugary food, it will lead to accumulation of fat in the body and arm stoutness. For some manual laborers who carry heavy loads for a long time, they will also have thick arms.

Diseases such as deep vein thrombosis, congenital stenosis of upper extremity veins, and superior vena cava syndrome can cause obstruction of venous return to the arms, which can be characterized by swelling, pain, and superficial varicose veins, which are especially obvious when the upper extremities are sagging.

If you feel that your arms are abnormally thick, it is recommended to go to the hospital after ruling out physiological causes.
