Redness of the lower eyelids in children may be related to blepharitis, eye trauma, mosquito bites and other causes.
1. Blepharitis: Blepharitis refers to suppurative inflammation of the eyelid glands. Under the stimulation of inflammation, children may experience redness, swelling and pain in the eyelid.
2. Ocular trauma: If the child’s eyelid is bumped, squeezed or other ocular trauma, the eyelid may be red, swollen and painful, and may be accompanied by subcutaneous bruising, bleeding and other symptoms.
3. Mosquito bites: After mosquitoes bite the eyelid skin of children, they can release saliva into the body, which can cause local inflammatory reaction, thus redness, swelling, itching and other discomforts of the eyelids can occur.
It is recommended that children with significant eyelid congestion seek medical attention to assess their condition and treat them under the guidance of a physician.
