Rectal drug delivery is one of the more commonly used operations in pediatrics. Its advantages are as follows: 1. Avoiding the stimulation of the gastric mucosa by oral drugs and reducing vomiting, especially for children with primary diseases accompanied by severe vomiting or difficulty in taking oral drugs; 2. Avoiding the destruction of oral drugs by gastric acid and pepsin; avoiding pain or irritation of the gluteus maximus muscle caused by intramuscular injection to the child. The disadvantages are as follows: 1. Operation requires a certain degree of technicality, and if it is not done properly, it can cause side damage to the intestinal mucosa and intestinal bleeding. 2. Repeated rectal administration can cause an increase in intestinal peristalsis and symptoms such as diarrhea and abdominal pain due to the stimulation of the drug on the intestinal mucosa.
