What are gallbladder stones 23x13mm?

Gallbladder stones 23x13mm are caused by bile metabolism disorders, structural disruption of the intestinal-hepatic axis of the human body, and abnormalities in gallbladder motility.

1. Bile metabolism disorder: Abnormal metabolism of cholesterol/bile acids in bile or cholesterol precipitation and deposition in hepatocytes are closely related to the formation of cholesterol stones; on the other hand, the disorders of liver-related enzymes and defects in its own metabolic function, and the lithogenic bile produced as a result, are also the main causative factors for the formation of gallbladder stones.

2. Structural disruption of the intestinal/liver axis: Bile acids, the end-products of cholesterol metabolism, have a role in preventing the formation of gallstones. Structural disruption and/or dysfunction of the intestinal/hepatic axis in the human body will disrupt the secretion of bile acids and promote stone formation.

3. Abnormal gallbladder motility: Abnormal contraction and diastolic drive of the gallbladder leads to prolonged stagnation of bile, which promotes the precipitation of cholesterol crystals, and excess crystals gather to form microscopically visible microstones, and prolonged retention can also lead to over-concentration of bile in the gallbladder, and the high concentration of bile is likely to promote the formation of crystals.

Gallbladder stones 23x13mm, diameter greater than 2cm, there are surgical indications, it is recommended to perform laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which has the advantages of fast postoperative recovery, small injury, safety and so on.
