If the patient is physically able to tolerate the surgery, surgical resection can be considered, and the pyloric obstruction will be relieved naturally after the tumor is removed. In some cases, the tumor shrinks after radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and the pyloric obstruction may be resolved at that time. If the patient is in poor health and cannot tolerate surgery or radiation and chemotherapy, a small bowel fistula is performed. Through the fistula, nutrients are injected into the small intestine to meet the patient’s needs for various nutrients.
