Antithyroid peroxidase antibody (TPOAb) 1000IU/ml is a significant increase, suspected Hashimoto’s thyroid, Graves’ disease and other diseases, should improve the relevant examination, thyroid function abnormalities or other symptoms should be taken to symptomatic treatment. Significantly increased TPOAb may be caused by Hashimoto’s thyroid, Graves’ disease and other diseases, and further relevant examinations, such as thyroid ultrasound, thyroid function, autoimmune antibodies and other tests should be improved in order to carry out evaluation of the thyroid organism, function and so on, and to clarify the need for medication, surgery and other treatments according to the results. For example, if Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is present, but the patient’s thyroid function is normal and the patient has no obvious symptoms such as palpitations and fatigue, no treatment is needed and regular checkups will be sufficient; if the patient’s thyroid function is abnormal, or if the patient’s thyroid is enlarged or painful, or if the patient has symptoms of compression, active treatment is needed. In the case of Graves’ disease, timely intervention is usually needed, such as taking antithyroid drugs such as propylthiouracil, iodine 131 treatment, surgical treatment and so on. In addition, other autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus, may also show abnormal TPOAb indexes, and then the primary disease needs to be actively treated. Patients with elevated anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies are advised to seek prompt medical attention.
