The duration of pain of distal radius fracture is not fixed, it is mainly related to the severity of the injury, treatment measures and the sensitivity of the patient, etc. In most cases, the pain can be gradually reduced after 1~2 weeks after the fracture, and the pain will disappear after 8~12 weeks after the fracture is basically healed.
If the damage of distal radius fracture is less serious, it is usually treated by manipulation and plaster external fixation; if the damage is serious or the effect of manipulation and fixation is unsatisfactory, it can be treated by incision and internal fixation surgery, and the local swelling and bruise are gradually absorbed after the treatment, and the pain can be gradually reduced in 1~2 weeks.
After treatment, if the fracture is not displaced and heals well, the bone scab will gradually form after 8 to 12 weeks, the fracture line will disappear gradually, the fracture will be healed basically, and the pain will disappear gradually.
However, there are special cases. For patients with severe fracture damage, slow fracture recovery or displaced fracture, the pain tends to last longer, especially for patients who are more sensitive to pain sensation, it may last for several months or even longer.
For patients with distal radius fracture, if the pain symptoms persist or even worsen, it is recommended that the patient seek medical attention to clarify the cause of the problem before proceeding with targeted treatment.
