When ultrasound examination is done for chocolate cysts, ultrasound will find cysts in the adnexal area and stellate echogenicity can be seen in the cyst, in this case ultrasound can suspect chocolate cysts. However, for the diagnosis of chocolate cysts, a comprehensive clinical analysis must be made in conjunction with the patient’s medical history before a preliminary diagnosis can be made. If the diagnosis is to be confirmed clinically, unless the cyst is sent for pathological examination after surgery, the pathological diagnosis is the final result clinically. The majority of patients with chocolate cysts have a history of dysmenorrhea in the clinic, and often about 40%-50% of patients will cause infertility in the clinic, so the diagnosis of chocolate cysts in the clinic should be combined with the medical history.
