What a perianal abscess looks like



The appearance of perianal abscess is mainly localized redness, swelling, and pus overflow from the ulcers when the abscess breaks.

1. Localized redness of the anus: because of the inflammatory reaction of the perianal tissues, perianal abscess is usually caused by the infection of the anal sinus, and there is a suppurative infection of the perianal skin space and the sciatico-rectal fossa space.

2. Swelling in the anus: in the early stage of perianal abscess, a hard nodular lump will protrude next to the anus, as the disease becomes more and more serious, the lump will also increase in size, and if it develops to a certain extent, it will form an abscess or pus cavity, and there will be fluctuating sensation when it is pressed and the center of the lump will be soft.

3. Pus: If the perianal abscess is not well controlled, it may break out, and after it breaks out, there will often be pus or pus and blood, accompanied by perianal hardness. When such symptoms occur, they should be treated as soon as possible.
