What does it mean when a child is weakly positive for hepatitis B surface antibody?

Children with weakly positive hepatitis B surface antibodies indicate a relatively poor defense against hepatitis B. Further quantitative testing for hepatitis B antibodies should be done, and if the quantitative antibodies are less than 10, they are usually negative and require 3 doses of hepatitis B vaccine. If the hepatitis B surface antibody is between 10 and 100, the common antibody test is weakly positive or positive, and a booster shot of hepatitis B vaccine is needed to strengthen the defense against hepatitis B. If the test is positive for hepatitis B surface antibody greater than 100, it usually indicates that the defense against hepatitis B is good and immunization is not needed for the time being. Hepatitis B surface antibody tests also need to be reviewed regularly, as the concentration and protection of antibodies will gradually decrease over time.
