What to do if some glands of the sigmoid colon show high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia?

Some of the glands of the sigmoid colon show high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia and should be promptly resected.
Sigmoid colon adenoma is the most important precancerous disease of sigmoid colon cancer. If accompanied by high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia, it is called high-risk adenoma. It should be treated promptly to avoid cancer.
Resection of the lesion can be preceded by colonoscopic treatment, in which high-frequency electrocoagulation resection, mucosal resection or endoscopic submucosal dissection is used to recover the pathological tissue for pathological examination. Treatment is considered complete if the cancer does not involve the base, and if it involves the root, additional surgery is needed to remove the part with cancerous tissue.
If the diagnosis of high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia is made in some glands of the sigmoid colon, the patient should be admitted to the hospital in time and receive standardized treatment under the guidance of professional doctors.
