Hernia surgery does not have to be done for every girl. When there is no hernia disease, hernia surgery is not required. However, smaller hernias that appear within two weeks of age do not need to be treated with surgery. If the hernia is more than two weeks old, surgery is usually required.
1. Within two weeks of age: Within two weeks of age, infants and young children with poor congenital development and a weak constitution are prone to suffer from pediatric hernias. Pediatric hernias can usually heal on their own, with diligent observation. If the hernia does not recover, it can be treated with hernia surgery.
2. Over two years old: girls over two years old are prone to hernias if they are malnourished or overweight, or if they have a weak abdominal wall. Hernias are usually not self-healing and need to be cured through surgery.
When a child suddenly cries and suspects that he has a hernia, please consult a doctor in time and take active treatment, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
