Can Tension Headaches Cure Themselves?

Tension headaches usually do not resolve spontaneously, and treatment at this stage is based on non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic treatments to control symptoms.
1. Non-pharmacological treatments: Psychological treatments such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and pain control training may be effective.
2. Drug therapy: including analgesics and tricyclic antidepressants.
(1) Analgesics: mainly used for acute attacks of tension headache. Commonly used drugs are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as acetaminophen, ibuprofen and so on.
(2) Tricyclic antidepressants: common prophylactic drugs, mostly used for chronic tension headache or patients with drug overuse. Such as amitriptyline, adverse effects include drowsiness.
If you suffer from tension headache, you should consult a doctor in time, choose the treatment suitable for you under the guidance of the doctor, and strictly follow the doctor’s instructions for medication.
