After cataract surgery, patients need to pay attention to eye care, no eye rubbing, no strenuous exercise, as well as follow the doctor’s instructions for medication and regular checkups after surgery.
Cataract surgery is an internal eye surgery that requires an incision at the edge of the cornea. Therefore, in the early stages of cataract surgery, when the incision has not healed, patients should not allow the eye to enter dirty water to prevent water from entering the eye and causing infection. Patients should also refrain from rubbing their eyes to prevent the wound from splitting, and avoid strenuous exercise to prevent ectasia of the IOL.
After surgery, patients should also follow the doctor’s instructions to use medication, such as tobramycin eye drops, to prevent infection. Patients also need to have regular follow-up examinations to check the wound healing and the position of the IOL.
It is recommended that post-cataract surgery patients follow the doctor’s instructions, have regular checkups, and seek prompt medical attention when discomfort occurs.
