Ampelopsis is a traditional Chinese medicine, for the grape family plant Ampelopsis whole grass or root. It has the effect of clearing away heat and dampness, detoxifying and subduing swelling. It is mainly used for treating heat canker sores, dengteng, snake and insect bites, rheumatism and paralysis, diarrhea and dysentery, and blood in urine. Its adverse effects are not clear, pregnant women should not be used.
