How the voice changed after tonsil adenoid surgery

Changes in voice after tonsil adenoid surgery may be caused by postoperative vocal cord edema or changes in airway structure.
1. Post-operative vocal cord edema: Voice changes may be caused by the effect of anesthetic drugs or intra-operative damage to the vocal cords, which can be facilitated by eating a light diet, avoiding oily and spicy stimulating foods, and drinking plenty of water.
2. Changes in airway structure: enlarged tonsils and adenoids will block part of the airway, causing changes in nasal resonance. After surgical treatment to remove enlarged tonsils and adenoids, the normal airway structure will be restored, resulting in changes in the voice.
Some patients may experience voice changes after tonsil or adenoid surgery. Active follow-up is recommended, and prompt medical attention is recommended for any discomfort.
