How long does it take to cure pneumonia

How long it takes to cure pneumonia depends on the patient’s health, the severity of the disease, the infecting pathogens and other factors, and cannot be generalized. Pneumonia is an inflammatory lesion of the lungs caused by a variety of causes, and the treatment and course of treatment varies with different pathogens. Most patients with pneumonia are caused by bacterial infections and are treated primarily with antibiotics. If the disease is mild, a general common pneumonia can be treated with sensitive antibiotics or antiviral therapy for about 7 days to recover; if the patient is older, in poorer health, and has more underlying diseases, even a mild pneumonia will require about 2 weeks of active treatment to recover. If the disease is more severe, it may take 1-2 months of treatment to gradually recover. If there is a combination of drug-resistant bacterial infections, such as hospital-acquired Staphylococcus aureus and drug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae, the course of antibiotics should also be extended appropriately. In addition, during treatment, patients are advised to eat a light diet, drink more water, and eat more vitamin-rich foods such as vegetables and fruits to promote recovery from the disease.
