What about wernicke’s encephalopathy?

Wernicke’s encephalopathy is a disease caused by acute vitamin B1 deficiency due to chronic alcohol abuse. Wernicke’s encephalopathy is usually characterized by eye movement disorders, ataxia and psychiatric disorders, and a large proportion of patients have peripheral neuropathy. In some patients, cortical atrophy and ventricular enlargement can be seen on CT, and most EEGs show diffuse slow waves.
