What causes facial swelling?

There are many reasons for facial edema, including disease factors, drug factors and poor lifestyle. 1. Disease factors: Renal disease due to decreased renal excretory function, resulting in increased fluid in the body, or due to increased protein excretion caused by hypoproteinemia will show symptoms of facial edema. Exposure of the body to allergens can lead to increased vascular permeability producing tissue edema, triggering facial edema. Nutritional diseases can cause a decrease in tissue osmotic pressure, resulting in facial edema. 2. Drugs: Some herbs, antibiotics and hypoglycemic drugs can cause facial edema, and the symptoms can be relieved after stopping the drugs. 3. Bad lifestyle: Sedentary lifestyle, pregnancy and menstruation can induce facial swelling. However, it is often transient and can be relieved on its own without much intervention. The causes of facial edema are very complex, and need to be combined with the patient’s accompanying symptoms to improve the relevant examination, to clarify the cause of the disease, so as to systematic treatment.
