What’s wrong with acid bloating and burping?

Gastric acid flatulence and hiccups are common digestive symptoms in which irritation causes the stomach to secrete gastric acid, producing more gas and irritating the diaphragm. Common causes are physiological, but also gastritis, gastric ulcer and other pathological causes.
1. Physiological factors: mental stress and improper diet are common. Mental stress, including long-term mental tension, depression, anxiety, etc., can lead to abnormal secretion of gastric acid. Consumption of irritating food or indigestible food can also stimulate the abnormal secretion of gastric acid. Generally, no special treatment is needed, and removing the triggers can relieve the problem.
2. Pathological factors: commonly caused by gastritis, gastroduodenal ulcer. Pathological inflammatory reaction leads to gastric mucosal congestion, swelling, peristalsis is weakened, often need to take acid-producing drugs, some may need surgery, in order to alleviate the symptoms.
In the normal physiologic state, gastric juice secretion is acidic and aids in digestion. If the stomach acid secretion is excessive, making the stomach peristalsis abnormal, gastric distension stimulates the diaphragm leading to eructation and hiccups.
Therefore, there are multiple triggers for gastric acid bloating and hiccups, while if the symptoms recur, pathological factors need to be noted, especially the possibility of abdominal tumors stimulating the diaphragm, which is noteworthy and should be treated promptly.
