Does pentavalent rotavirus vaccine have side effects after oral administration?

The pentavalent rotavirus vaccine may have side effects such as mild diarrhea, vomiting, fever and loss of appetite after oral administration. At present, the pentavalent rotavirus vaccine used in China is generally a live attenuated rotavirus vaccine, which is suitable for children between 2 months of age and 3 years of age, and after oral administration, it can enable the body to develop a certain degree of immunity to the rotavirus, and is used for the prevention of rotavirus-induced diarrhea in infants and young children. Generally, the side effects of live attenuated rotavirus vaccine are not obvious, and only a few young children may have mild reactions such as diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and loss of appetite, which usually disappears in 2~3 days. It is not recommended for children with acute infections, serious diseases, allergy, severe malnutrition and renal insufficiency. Before vaccination, it is recommended to consult your doctor carefully and explain your child’s detailed condition to him/her so that he/she can judge whether it is possible to take it. If there is any serious discomfort after the use of the vaccine, you should consult a doctor promptly to avoid delaying the condition of the child.
