What’s with the toothache?

Paroxysmal tooth pain may be acute pulpitis or trigeminal neuralgia. 1. Acute pulpitis: the main manifestations of temperature stimulation aggravated pain, paroxysmal pain, pain can not be localized and other symptoms. Patients usually have a history of pain from hot and cold stimuli. Oral examination and dental radiographs can be obviously diagnostic. Root canal treatment is usually required. 2. Trigeminal neuralgia: mainly manifested as paroxysmal cut-like or tear-like pain, pain time is very short, usually a few seconds or tens of seconds, often mistaken for dental pain, some patients have a history of tooth extraction. Carbamazepine and other medications are preferred, and surgical treatment, such as radiofrequency thermo-coagulation, is performed when control is not good. It is recommended to go to a regular hospital stomatology department, by the physician examination after a clear diagnosis, and the cause of the treatment.
