Childhood Diabetes Education and Management

The incidence of diabetes in children and adolescents reported globally is increasing sunrise, and the rate of type 1 diabetes in China is about 0.6/100,000, and the number of patients cannot be underestimated due to the large population base in China. Due to neglect and lack of diabetes education, diabetes complications are a serious threat to children’s health. Caring for the health of children with diabetes has attracted great attention from governments and institutions around the world. The China Children’s Diabetes Management Program, initiated by the China Medical Association, has been officially launched and 32 centers have been established nationwide. The Department of Pediatrics of the General Hospital of Tianjin Medical University is one of the 32 centers, and the only one in Tianjin. The project will be based on the pediatric diabetes treatment center. It will provide professional and standardized education on diabetes for medical professionals, children and parents, provide professional follow-up, and carry out various activities such as summer camps for children with diabetes in order to better help children and families with diabetes to improve their own management, improve their quality of life and ensure healthy growth. We hope that children with diabetes and their parents will come to our center to participate in this management program, and we will do our best to provide our professional help for the treatment, education and management of children with diabetes.
