Is advanced squamous lung cancer contagious?

Late stage squamous lung cancer is usually not contagious.
Lung squamous carcinoma is one of the pathologic types of non-small cell lung cancer. Late stage of lung squamous carcinoma means that the tumor has pleural metastasis, pleural effusion or multiple metastases in the whole body, such as liver, brain and bone. Patients may have symptoms such as cough, chest pain, hemoptysis, dyspnea, weight loss, etc. However, lung squamous carcinoma belongs to malignant tumors of the respiratory system, is not an infectious disease, and is generally not contagious.
Late-stage squamous lung cancer itself will not be infectious, so there is generally no need to worry. However, some patients with squamous lung cancer may be combined with pneumonia. Some infectious pneumonia caused by bacteria, virus and other pathogens can be spread through respiratory droplets, which is contagious to a certain extent, while pneumonia caused by non-infectious factors is not contagious.
Advanced squamous lung cancer is usually treated with chemotherapy, supplemented by radiotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, etc. For patients with pneumonia, it is also necessary to actively treat pneumonia at the same time, so as to alleviate the symptoms, prolong the survival cycle, and improve the quality of life of patients.
Once diagnosed with squamous lung cancer, patients should consult doctors in time and actively cooperate with them.
